Long Term Care in Owens Cross Roads, AL
When you need long term care in Owens Cross Roads and Hampton Cove, South Hampton Nursing & Rehab is here to help. Our skilled staff of nursing care professionals knows how important compassionate care is, and we strive to make you and your family feel at home with us.
What Is Long Term Care?
Long term care is needed when there is little to no expectation that the patient's condition will improve to the point that they can resume independent living. Our population is aging, and sometimes our patients have outlived their close family that could otherwise help with their care. With others, they have a debilitating condition that requires around the clock care, something that is very difficult for families to provide along with their responsibilities to their jobs and children.
How It Works
When you or your family member can no longer remain independent, you want a facility that provides all the therapeutic options and convenient amenities that may be needed. Our nursing home in Owens Cross Roads, AL, understands how difficult this decision is, and our caring and compassionate staff is committed to easing the transition to nursing care. No longer will our patients worry about how to get medical care when they need it, how they will get a meal, or how they will shower or do domestic chores by themselves. We are here for all of that.

When Is Long Term Care Needed?
There can be many reasons why our residents require nursing care. Reduced cognition, impaired motor skills from debilitating conditions like arthritis or weakness, and balance issues are all indicators that our patients need more daily assistance for safe and healthy living than they can provide for themselves. We also offer hospice care for those who have a terminal condition that has defied all treatments. We are honored to help our patients with dignified and loving end of life care.
Long Term residents may transfer to our facility from the hospital, from another facility, or from home. Before admission, staff members will meet with the patient or with a prospective patient’s family members to explain policies and procedures and to discuss financial matters. We accept Medicare, Medicaid, private pay and private insurance. We also offer a tour of the facility and the opportunity to meet with key associates in each department.
